Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has declared that he will not be intimidated into abandoning his political path, dismissing claims that he is a mole or a political project working for President William Ruto.
Speaking on Thursday, October 22, 2026, the People’s Party of Kenya (PPK) leader accused the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) of allegedly using party resources to orchestrate a campaign against him, urging opposition leaders to stop internal attacks and focus on challenging Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
“If you are calling us moles and projects, mtafuteni a better vocabulary hiyo tumezoea. Hakuna mtu atatuondoa hii njia,” Nyoro said, insisting that accusations questioning his loyalty would not force him out of the opposition.
Nyoro Explains His Position on the Presidential Ticket
Nyoro maintained that the opposition should rally behind a single candidate selected by Kenyans rather than allow personal ambitions and disagreements to weaken its campaign.
The Kiharu MP said he would support whichever candidate Kenyans chose to challenge Ruto, including himself if he emerged as their preferred choice.
“Wakenya wakisema ni mtu fulani, Ndindi Nyoro, atakuwa nyuma ya huyo mtu. Wakenya wakisema ni Ndindi Nyoro, hata nyinyi nawauliza kura yenu,” he said.
His remarks come amid growing political discussions within opposition ranks over how to agree on a joint presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
Calls for Opposition Unity
Nyoro also appealed to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other opposition leaders to end personal attacks and concentrate on issues affecting Kenyans.
He argued that continued disagreements risked diverting attention from the opposition’s responsibility to hold the government accountable and develop a common political strategy.
“Tushikane mkono tuache hii mambo yote tunaharibia Wakenya wakati,” he said.
The MP further questioned whether the alleged campaign against him was helping the opposition or benefiting the president by deepening divisions among leaders seeking to challenge him.
Has Nyoro Announced When He Will Drop His Presidential Bid?
Despite the debate surrounding the opposition’s presidential ticket, Nyoro did not announce a date for withdrawing a presidential bid in his October 22 remarks.
Instead, he said he would support whichever candidate Kenyans preferred, while leaving open the possibility that they could choose him.
The immediate question facing the opposition remains whether its leaders can agree on a single candidate before the 2027 General Election.
